About Us

Kristine was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. She is the oldest of three girls. Growing up, she had black labs as pets, named Josie and Maddie. Kristine loves to dance and has studied many types of dance, from Jazz to Hip-Hop, Irish-Celtic and even Latin and Ballroom. Kristine's favorite dance is the Foxtrot, which works well with her favorite music, Frank Sinatra. She has a not-so-secret love of sci-fi, especially Stargate, Battlestar Galactica and Doctor Who. Her favorite movies usually involve superheroes, pirates, heists, or time travel. Luckily for Corey, Kristine enjoys video games, and it was in fact Kristine that brought the Xbox 360 into the relationship. Like the rest of her family, Kristine loves college basketball, and has been a UNLV Runnin' Rebel basketball fan since she was only months old. She used to sleep through the games as an infant, training that has helped her sleep through many noisy disruptions through the years, including an earthquake. She would like to thank her former roommates for knowing her well enough to wake her up whenever a fire alarm went off in the middle of the night.

When Kristine was looking at colleges during high school, her dad's two rules were: Not back East, and not in a big city. Luckily, he allowed her to break both of those rules when she chose to go to the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia. While at Penn, Kristine studied Archaeology and Classical Studies. Kristine loves to travel, and had the opportunity to do so during her years at Penn. Some of her favorite cities are London, Budapest, Venice, Paris and Seldovia, Alaska. She also got the chance to attend field school on the Big Island of Hawai'i, and had a wonderful summer working on an archaeological dig, with the exception of spending the 4th of July in the ER because of an allergic reaction to the hundreds of mosquito bites she was covered in.

Despite becoming allergic to more and more things with each passing year, Kristine is a fairly adventurous person. She loves spicy food, roller coasters, fast cars, and although afraid of heights, can't resist looking down from tall buildings or the edge of the Grand Canyon. She loves visiting Disneyland with her sisters, and has been known to hold entire conversations with them exclusively using quotes from Finding Nemo. Growing up in the desert, she didn't see a firefly (or lightning bug) until she was 20 years old, and still gets excited to see them when taking the dog for a walk each night.

Corey was born in Lakewood, NJ and grew up in Jackson, NJ. He is the oldest of four boys and one girl. Growing up, he had many cats and dogs as pets, with such names as Killer, Bonnie, Tara, Peaches, Lana, and Skunk. Corey loves to play video games and has studied many different types of consoles, from Nintendo to Game Boy, Super Nintendo, and even Colecovision. Corey’s favorite console is the Nintendo 64, which works well with his favorite video game, Super Smash Bros. He has a not-so-secret love of sci-fi, especially Star Wars, The Fifth Element, and Spaceballs. His favorite movies involve superheroes, robots, spaceships, or time travel. Luckily for Kristine, Corey enjoys cooking, and it was in fact Corey that brought the garlic press into the relationship. Like most of his family, Corey loves football, hockey, and baseball, and has been a Giants, Rangers, and Mets fan since he was only months old. He went to a Mets game in Philadelphia when he was only a few years old, training that has helped him through the noisy disruptions of being a New York sports fan living in Philadelphia. He would like to thank his former roommate, a Philadelphia native, for being nice enough to not beat Corey up whenever the Giants played the Eagles.

When Corey was looking at colleges during high school, his dad’s one rule was: Get out of my house. Luckily, he followed that rule when he chose to go the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia. While at Penn, Corey studied Operations Information Management and Legal Studies at the Wharton School. Corey loves Philadelphia and had the opportunity to continue to work there in the summers during his years at Penn. Some of his favorite places are Copabanana, Jim’s Steaks, Han Dynasty, and the Stouffer College House patio. He also got the chance to live in London for two months, and had a wonderful fall working for his company learning about databases, with the exception of spending a weekend in Edinburgh where he was nearly beaten up by a drunken hooligan.

Despite becoming more of a grouchy old man with each passing year, Corey is a fairly adventurous person. He loves roller coasters, fast go-karts, and although afraid of certain vegetables, can’t resist trying out new foods as long as they’re either deep-fried or involve bacon. He loves visiting Six Flags Great Adventure with his siblings, and has been known to calculate the odds of winning a prize on the Boardwalk games. Growing up on the east coast, he didn’t leave the eastern time zone until he was 22 years old, and still gets excited when he can change the clock each time he travels.

Kristine and Corey have a three-year-old yorkshire terrier named Jack. Kristine chose the name Jack from some of her favorite characters, Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean), Colonel Jack O'Neill (Stargate SG-1), Agent Jack Bauer (24), "The Pumpkin King" Jack Skellington (A Nightmare Before Christmas) and Captain Jack Harkness (Torchwood). Corey gets to choose the name for their future dog, and has already decided on Adama, in honor of Commander Bill Adama (BG). Jack is what we like to call "overly friendly". He loves running, belly-rubs, chasing a laser, cheese, and paper. He hates his leash, inanimate objects, cows, Kristine's yoga mat and the sound of Conan O'Brien's cat impression. He knows how to high-five, sit, dance, crawl, and ignore commands whenever he feels like it. He weighs only 6 pounds and snores loud enough to be heard in the next room.

In August of 2011, Corey, Kristine and Jack moved into their first house, along with Kristine's giant collections of books and DVDs, and Corey's giant collections of video games and t-shirts. Their duplicate copies of the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings trilogies will join them at their new house, and no, we don't want to get rid of our extra copies.
